How to use shea butter on the face?
Pure use, directly on the face
Shea butter can be used pure on the face without any problem, it's even a treatment in itself! For local use, you can use it daily on irritations, scars or chapped lips. It is easily applied to the lips by first heating a small hint of butter in your fingers. For lips, it easily replaces a classic, industrial lip stick! It will also be ideal after shaving (beard, legs, etc.) to soothe microcuts and itching. If your skin is ultra dry, you can also use it pure all over your face: heat a dab of shea butter in your hands to soften it then apply it to your face, focusing on the drier areas.
Use as an ingredient in all your homemade cosmetics
A protective cosmetic ingredient par excellence, shea butter can be added to all your homemade cosmetics, whatever your skin type. Its texture being solid, the higher the concentration of shea butter in your cosmetic, the denser and thicker your product will be.

What are the benefits of shea butter for the face?
Shea butter to protect sensitive facial skin
Whether you are most often exposed to the sun's rays or rather to the cold and snow, shea butter is the ally you need! It protects from the sun's rays (even if it does not replace sunscreen) and helps prevent the appearance of sun allergies. In winter, it is ideal for protecting dry skin from cold and wind attacks by restoring the skin's hydrolipidic film. Wherever your skin is attacked, think of shea butter!
Shea butter to prolong your tan
Who hasn't dreamed of extending their holiday tan into autumn? With shea butter it’s possible. Very nourishing and hydrating at the same time, it forms a protective film on the skin preventing it from peeling and flaking. Your tan can therefore be kept for longer. To give your skin a tanned complexion even in winter, do not hesitate to combine shea butter with vegetable oils such as apricot kernel or carrot which have a pretty orange color thanks to the beta carotene they contain, thus playing the role of a natural self-tanner.
Shea butter to nourish and moisturize the face
Nourishing thanks to the saturated and unsaturated fatty acids it contains, shea butter has an oily texture and penetrates slowly into the skin. It will be ideal for nourishing dry skin or as a massage previously heated in the hands. Does your skin need to be hydrated? Shea butter is also moisturizing! Thanks to its protective texture, it helps restore the skin's hydrolipidic film and maintain good hydration on the surface of the skin.
To soothe irritated and heated skin
Is your skin tight or itchy? Did you expose yourself to the sun and overdo it a little? Light anti-inflammatory, shea butter helps soothe and calm irritations, sunburn and itching. It is the phytosterols it contains which play this soothing role. The calming virtues of shea butter combined with its regenerating and protective properties make it an essential ally before and especially after exposure to the sun.
To heal and regenerate
If you have scars on your face (like acne or scratch scars), shea butter can help. Never forget: an old scar will always be more difficult to fade than a recent scar. So you have to get started early enough! Shea butter will also help reduce sun damage and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
Shea butter for chapped lips
Essential in lip care, cocoa butter could well be dethroned by shea butter! Even more protective and nourishing than cocoa butter, shea butter also has a very pleasant and less hard texture than cocoa butter. It is unrivaled for forming a protective hydrolipidic film on the lips. In fact, the lips are the only part of our skin that does not produce sebum, this fatty and protective lipid. This is why our lips are so often dry and rough. Pure or in combination with other vegetable oils such as calendula macerate, it will work miracles on dry, chapped or cracked lips.
To prevent signs of aging
Is your skin sagging? Fine lines and wrinkles are starting to appear or are they already there? Shea butter has 3 major properties to help you limit the appearance of signs of aging. It is first of all softening thanks to the action of vitamin A, terpene alcohols and vitamin E which it contains. These compounds will help restore skin elasticity by stimulating collagen production. It is then extremely nourishing and anti-drying which will limit the appearance of wrinkles. It is in fact recognized that wrinkles appear more quickly on dry skin. Finally, it is antioxidant thanks to vitamin E and terpene alcohols. The latter helps protect facial cells from skin aging. You will have understood, shea butter - is the key ingredient to have in your beauty kit!

Protective and anti-UV
Rich in vitamin E, terpene alcohols and latex, shea butter has a slight solar index and helps absorb UV rays. However, it does not replace a suitable sunscreen before exposure to the sun.
Moisturizing and nourishing
Although it does not contain water strictly speaking, shea butter is also hydrating! In fact, the protective lipid film that it forms on the surface of the epidermis allows the water naturally present in the skin not to evaporate. So we can say that shea butter nourishes but also hydrates the skin.
Healing
Rich in karitene, vitamin A and phytosterols, shea butter helps regenerate the skin and reduce scars. More particularly, phytosterols promote cell renewal and improve microcirculation, thus helping with effective healing.
Anti-aging
Softening, nourishing and antioxidant, shea butter is an essential anti-aging ingredient. The vitamin A it contains boosts the production of collagen. In fact, the latter decreases with age: this results in increasingly significant skin sagging over the years.
Precautions for use
We advise you to avoid using shea butter if you are allergic to latex.
